Gabourey Sidibe - Leading Actress of film ' Precious'
(Source: The Insider) We\'ve been seeing profiles popping up on Gabourey Sidibe, the actress who is earning rave reviews for her role in "Precious" as an abused, illiterate 16-year-old pregnant for the second time by her own father. The movie looks amazing, but it\'s also extremely entertaining watching the bubbly young actress turn journalistic expectations on their heads by being both a) overweight, and b) not completely miserable.

As she told New York magazine of her portrayal in the press, "They try to paint the picture that I was this downtrodden, ugly girl who was unpopular in school and in life, and then I got this role and now I\'m awesome. But the truth is that I\'ve been awesome, and then I got this role."
