J J Walker wraps up the day on 104.3 WOMC as the host of the 7pm-12m show.
The evening starts with the “70s at 7”, with a full hour of great music from the era that brought you great bands like Chicago and Elton John – and continues through midnight with one hit after another.
Your host, JJ Walker, is a familiar voice from the past, that is now part of the present. JJ is no stranger to Detroit radio. While his radio career has taken him to many of the largest markets in the United States, he spent several years in Detroit during the 80s.
Between stints in Detroit, his radio career has taken him to many major markets across the USA including New York City, Philadelphia, Miami and more. His broadcasting career also includes many TV commercials, hosting a pilot for USA Network and appearing daily on local Detroit TV on Channel 50 a number of years
In the mid 1980's, JJ Walker wreaked havoc on The Motor City airwaves with his playful way and growling voice as part of the old Hot-Rockin Flamethrowin' crew of then Top 40 WHYT making frontpage headllines of both the Free Press and Detroit News!
He was also voted Best Newcomer of the Year by the Detroit News, Best afternoon show by the Ann Arbor News....of course, he'd like to forget the "King Boots" incident (where he locked himself in the control for 8 hours to support his friend Bobby Mitchell with the whole city listening to the drama).
With an exciting Detroit radio career in the past and now present, JJ Walker looks forward to the future on 104.3 WOMC. "I am besides myself excited to be back on the airwaves of DEEEEETROIT!”, said J.J. Walker. “I plan to do what I do....have FUN!" And I promise not to lock myself in the control room this time!"
Keep up with JJ on jjwalkershow.com
